Legacy Build No. 002 - The Bonnie Eusner Commission

The Next Chapter

Some things you build once.
Others… you realize you were meant to build all along.

This piece wasn’t the beginning.
It was the confirmation.

After completing our first Legacy Build, something stayed with us — a quiet understanding that this work carried more weight than we originally realized. It wasn’t just about craftsmanship. It was about purpose, history, and the responsibility of carrying something forward.

When Bonnie Eusner came to us, the vision was larger than a single piece. It was a home shaped intentionally — a bedroom to rest in, a table to gather around, a mantel to anchor a space.

This wasn’t just another project.

It was the next chapter of W² Wood Co.

The Barn Lives On

Long before this build, before us, before this home — there was a barn.

Constructed around 1915 in Bleckley County, Georgia by Jack Sikes, it stood through decades of work, weather, and seasons of life. It was later used by his son, Jerry Sikes — a structure woven into the rhythm of a family.

When the time came for it to come down, it wasn’t lost.

It was preserved.

Dismantled carefully, board by board, by Bob Scarborough, every effort was made to protect what time had already shaped. Those timbers were later entrusted to Wendi Sikes — granddaughter of Jack, daughter of Jerry — who chose to pass that responsibility on.

Much of this build comes from that same barn.

The same grain.
The same weight.
The same story.

To complete the vision, additional wood was sourced locally — not to replace what was reclaimed, but to support it. Every selection was made with restraint and intention, ensuring the final pieces felt unified without losing the authenticity that only time can create.

Built With Intention

This build became more than a single statement.

It became a collection of purpose.

A king-size bed, grounded and unwavering, built from reclaimed heart pine — its presence quiet, but undeniable.

Two bedside nightstands, simple in form, built to serve without distraction.

A round dining table, designed for gathering — where conversations will happen, meals will be shared, and time will pass without notice.

And a custom live edge mantel, where the natural line of the tree remains untouched — a reminder that not everything needs to be refined to be beautiful.

Every piece was shaped with restraint.

We don’t force character into wood like this.
We reveal what’s already there.

Where Time Still Lives

There’s something different about wood that has already lived a life.

You can feel it in the density.
See it in the grain.
Notice it in the imperfections that no machine could ever recreate.

The barn may no longer stand…
But it hasn’t disappeared.

It lives here now — in a different form, in a different home, serving a different purpose.

That’s the heart of a Legacy Build.

Not just to reuse what was…
But to carry it forward in a way that still matters.

A Commission Worthy of the Story

We’re grateful to Bonnie Eusner for trusting us — not just to build furniture, but to shape something meaningful inside her home.

Trust like that isn’t taken lightly.

We’re equally thankful to Wendi Sikes for continuing to entrust this wood to us, and to Bob Scarborough for preserving it with the care it deserved from the very beginning.

Every hand that touched this process matters.

Legacy Build No. 002 is not simply a continuation.

It’s a deepening.

The W² Standard

Every piece in this collection was handcrafted, milled, and finished by Jeremy and Flint Williams using reclaimed and carefully selected materials.

No artificial distressing.
No shortcuts.
No imitation.

Only real wood — shaped by time, and finished by hand.

Built to last.
Built to be noticed.
Built for real life.
